Pork Gelatin in Candies

I don’t know what to say about this but it is really SHOCKING, imported candies are not being checked or tested by the health ministry or concerned parties to see what are the ingredients of this imported product or any other products comes new in the country? This product is sold in our countries and it’s not discovered till now, they don’t know the type of gelatin that has been used in the ingredients?!! do you believe this…? They are using PORK GELATIN..!!! Picture was taken in a super market in Saudi Arabia.

The Haribo that is exported to the Middle East is a special variety which is HALAL. They use chemicals instead of gelatine.

You should check on the ingredients list on a packet if you really are worried but there is no way pork based products would be on sale.

  3. Ananyah, if you notice the link you provided it has a sticker saying HALAL in Arabic but the ones on my photo which is taken in Saudi Arabia does not have that sticker. anyways, we hope they produce always healthy candies :)
